🏆 Welcome to Tango Baltic Open Cup 2026!

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Tango Baltic Open Cup 2026, set to take place on March 20, 2026 in Riga, Latvia!

🏆This much-anticipated event is aimed at promoting continuous learning and development while bringing together talented Argentine tango dancers from the Baltics and neighboring countries to compete in six exciting categories: Tango de Pista, Tango de Pista Rising Stars, Tango de Pista Seniors, Vals, Milonga and Milonguero Solo.

🏆 The competition will be judged by a distinguished panel of judges, led by the Head of the Jury Horacio Pebete Godoy (ARG) and featuring experienced and highly respected in the industry tango professionals - Maricel Giacomini (ARG), Ariel Ramirez (ARG/LT), Carlos Rodriguez (ARG) and Brigita Rodriguez (LT).

 

We are committed to ensuring that the judging process is impartial, fair and of the highest standard possible.

🏆 Apart from the sheer joy of dancing and embracing, participating in the competition offers several benefits for tango dancers:

• improving your skills - competing with other dancers can help you identify your strengths and areas for improvement, allowing you to enhance your skills.

• networking - competitions provide a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow tango dancers who share a commitment to continuous improvement. You can learn from their experiences, share your own, and build relationships that contribute to your growth as a dancer.

• boosting your confidence - competing is a wonderful way to enjoy the dance, conquer your fears, and build confidence. Achieving recognition as a winner can serve as a powerful motivator to push your limits and continue refining your skills.

🏆 We invite all tango dancers, regardless of their level of experience, to participate - the competition is open for everyone.

​

* You can be a developing dancer with up to 2 years of learning and dancing - to participate in Tango de Pista Rising Stars Category, almost once in a life time opportunity. 

​​

* You can be an experienced dancer - to participate in various categories, in couples or without a partner

• in couples (Tango de Pista, Vals, Milonga)

• solo (Milonguero Solo Category)

​

* You can choose to participate in Tango de Pista Seniors in couple, if both partners at the date of competition are 60 years old or older. 

 

🏆Regardless of your age or experience you are welcome to join this emerging event. While primarily focusing on participants from the Baltic region, there are no geographical limitations and everyone is welcome!

The Tango Baltic Open Cup is organized by the Team of experienced tango event organizers, El Abrazo de Riga, and provides a platform for emerging talent, established performers and dance enthusiasts to come together and celebrate the art of tango.
